Development from 2004 to 2009
 

In 2004, the school was designated as Top-up Program Training Base. We entered the second batch of undergraduate admission in Jilin and Hei Longjiang provinces. The graduate employment rate reached 98.2%, ranking the first in the province. The campus covered an area of 760,000 square meters, 18 times than the early years of the school, and construction area of 180,000 square meters, 6.4 times than before. More than 5000 students were on campus.

In 2005, the school was honored with the right to confer bachelor’s degrees and began to carry out joint master programs with Jilin Normal University. In the national recruitment, the university entered the second batch of undergraduate admission in a number of provinces. There were over 6,000 students, 24 times than the early years of the school. Students were from 18 provinces in the country, and graduate employment rate was on the forefront in the province.

In 2005, President Qin He was named as the Fifth “China Top Ten Outstanding Women”, giving speech at the Great Hall of the People and was graciously received by Wang Zhaoguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, Wu Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice premier of the State Council, and Gu Xiulian, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and president of China Women’s Federation.

In 2006, we enrolled students from 24 provinces, regions and municipalities into 37 two- and four-year programs, and we won the titles of “Top 20 Non-Government Higher Education Universities in Teaching Quality” and “China Top 10 Best Credit Private Universities”. President Qin was named “Ten Leading Figures of China’s Non-Government Education”. The university ranked the third in “2006 China Evaluation Report of Private Universities”. 

In 2007, the school was designated as a key institution of higher learning in Jilin Province approved by the provincial government. 

In 2008, the university, taking efforts in education and striving to improve the quality, took part in the national evaluation and the application of Master’s degree, so that quality of education and management has greatly improved.

In 2009, the university clarified its goals in cultivation of applied talents, perfected the plan for cultivating programs, formulated the mid and long-term development plan and program of teaching innovation and promoting talents and culture, and started to develop the school into an excellent applied undergraduate university of foreign languages.
