In 2012, Yuan Guiren, minister and Party secretary of the Ministry of Education visited the school; an CPPCC Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Health and Sports Commission inspection group came to the school led by Zhao Qinping, the deputy director of CPPCC Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Health and Sports Commission, former vice minister of the Ministry of Education, and Du Yubo, vice minister of Education, vice Party secretary of the Ministry of Education; Jilin Provincial Government decided that special funds would be granted to the school for three consecutive years to encourage the pilot program on the national education system reform—seeking solutions for differentiated management of profit and non-profit private schools. Commissioned by the Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, the university successfully held the National Conference on the cultivation of application-oriented personnel in newly established universities for undergraduates. President Qin He participated, on behalf of China’s private university presidents in the 22nd Consulting Conference of Universities Directly under the Ministry of Education. The first batch of 51 application-oriented postgraduates began their studies on campus. Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) was approved as one of “the first batch of pilot majors for comprehensive reform on professional master’s degree education in Jilin Province”. Out university, as the only representative of private universities, attended the large-scale picture exhibition “Scientific Development and Splendid Achievements” centered on the successful practices and brilliant achievements of China’s scientific development since the 16th National Congress of Chinese Communist Party. Our students received awards in many national competitions for foreign language majors. Together with Changchun Youth League and Erdao district government, Changchun first “Northeast Asian Youth Cultural and Art Festival” was successfully carried out.
