In 2013, the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee & Jilin Provincial People’s Government’s Opinion on Improving the Provincial Higher Education ([2013]10 issued by Jilin Province) noted that, “Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages is expected to progress into a leading domestic private university by 2020”. President Qin was elected as the chairman of the National Non-profit Private University Alliance initiated by 26 universities including huaqiao. “The Global Village” has awarded the name of “World Multicultural Education Center” by UNESCO National Committee. Approved by the Ministry of Education, International Language and Culture Practice & Teaching Center became the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center”, and “College Student Extramural Practice Education Base” was approved as a national college student extramural practice education base, the Japanese major as one of the first batch of undergraduate major pilots carrying out comprehensive reform of local universities by the Ministry of Education. The School of International Exchanges, School of Translation and Interpretation, Department of Arabic affiliated to School of Oriental Languages were formally established, with a number of sessions held, such as the fourth session of the Academic Committee, the first session of the Third Council and the Supervisory Board. Our school won the “Changchun May 1 Labor Medal” and opened the “Cross-Strait Private University Presidents Forum” and “Student Service Center” for comprehensive use was put into service.
