School of Oriental Languages
On October 23rd, 2018, the Second National Japanese Dubbing Contest was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. Yu Fengshui and Zheng Xinyue, Japanese major (1901) students from the School of Oriental Languages won the second prize of the animation group, and teacher Zheng Yake won the award of Excellent Instructor.

The contest was co-sponsored by the College Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education (Japanese Branch), the China Japanese Teaching Research Association, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. 688 works of 1,100 participants from more than 180 universities were received. After the expert review, a total of 44 works were qualified for the final of the news group, animation group, film and television group.
Under the guidance of teacher Zheng Yake, Yu Fengshui and Zheng Xinyue chose the popular Japanese cartoon “Fruit Basket” as the dubbing fragment to participate in the final and showed their solid Japanese skills, rich expression, and comprehensive quality. Because of the overall high quality of dubbing, they won praise from both the judges and the audience.
This contest has tested the education and teaching of Japanese majors in JISU, greatly stimulated students’ interest in professional learning, and accumulated beneficial experience for deepening the education and teaching reform to promote the construction of the major and improve the quality of talent cultivation.
