This interpretation contest was hosted by the Translators Association of China and Beijing International Studies University. Since its beginning in 2008, this contest has attracted many undergraduate students and graduate students to participate. Over the years, this contest has not only provided an opportunity for the participants but also promoted the translation teaching and the building of multi-language majors.
The contest this year included 7 languages -- Japanese, French, Russian, German, Korean, Spanish and Arabic, with 194 participants from 92 colleges and universities both at home and abroad participating. After half a year of selection, 115 competitors made it to the semi-finals and finals, among whom 12 contestants were from the French group.
This award played an important role in deepening the reform of education and teaching, motivating professional learning, and advancing the building of the French major.
