JISU Youth League Committee

Fang Jiajia from the School of International Business and Duan Yiwei from the School of Education in JISU won the title of Jilin Province “Excellent College Students”. This activity was jointly carried out by the Publicity Department of Jilin Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Jilin Provincial Student Union, with the results being recently released.

Fang Jiajia joined the army in 2018 as a JISU student. During his military service, he remained loyal to the Chinese Communist Party and the country. He is always bearing in mind his original aspiration—serving the country and guarding the Tibetan frontier of the motherland. He has won many awards, such as “Excellent Recruit”, “Excellent Conscript”, and the Commemorative Medal of Border Defense. His honorable deed is also reported by CCTV News. He was honorably discharged in 2020 and returned to school to continue his studies.

Duan Yiwei won the School First-Class Scholarship for two consecutive years and the National Scholarship in 2020. She was awarded as “Merit Student” and “Excellent League Member”. She served as the monitor of her class and the chairman on duty of the Student Union of the School of Education. She was credited by her teachers and students for serving her class whole-heartedly with her pragmatic and rigorous attitude. Her class won honorary titles such as “Advanced Class” and “May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch”. In August, 2019, she went to the United States to participate in the 24th United Nations Youth Conference held in Washington D.C., and won the title of “Outstanding Youth Representative” and the National Individual Award.

This activity fully shows that JISU students are alive with youth vigor and have a strong sense of social responsibility, which will definitely spur other college students to spare no effort to greet the challenges in the new era. Fang Jiajia and Duan Yiwei also showed their gratitude to JISU for providing a favorable platform for personal growth and overall development. They expressed their determination to further broaden their view and improve themselves thoroughly. They will live up to their youth and be ready to make more contributions in the future.
