Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation
The interpretation final of the third “CC Cup” International Chinese Culture Translation Contest was held at Chongqing University on the evening of October 16th, 2021. Gong Rong, a 2020 postgraduate English Interpretation major from the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation of JISU, won the third prize under the guidance of teachers Li Chao and Xu Chunyang.

This contest, hosted by Chongqing University, Beijing Language and Culture University, and Chinese Classics Bilinguals’ Association of Pre-Qin History Society, along with being jointly organized by over 200 institutions and enterprises such as Beijing Foreign Studies University, Fudan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Henan University, Shanghai University, aims at spreading excellent Chinese culture and conveying China’s voice to promote learning through contests and training. The contest is divided into two categories: translation and interpretation. A total number of 9,860 participants from 536 universities, enterprises, and public institutions worldwide signed up for it. Among them, fifteen Chinese students and two foreign students are qualified for the interpretation final.

This contest is conducive to advancing educational reform of MTI and improving the quality of professional cultivation. It has also set up a favorable platform for students to aid them in broadening their international vision while also enhancing their professional practice level, thus further stimulating their enthusiasm for professional learning.
