On July 13th, 2021, the inaugural ceremony of the Jilin Volunteer Service Management College, also known as the Training Base of China Volunteer Service Federation, was held in JISU. Aiming to develop a specialized, professional, and international talented personnel engaging in volunteer management and practice, Jilin Volunteer Service Management College is the first non-profit, non-academic, and open training center in Jilin Province. It is jointly established by the provincial and municipal Volunteer Service Federations and JISU under the guidance of the provincial and municipal Offices of Spiritual Civilization Construction. It is also licensed as the training base of China Volunteer service.

Sun Zhijun, Standing Committee member of CPPCC National Committee and Standing Vice President of China Volunteer Service Federation, Shi Yugang, Standing Committee member of CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Minister of Publicity, Zhao Ming, Standing Committee member of CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Minister of Publicity, and Qin He, President of JISU jointly inaugurated the training base.

Shi Yugang delivered a speech, pointing out that Jilin Province, taking the promotion of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era as the primary political task of voluntary service, and the people-centered development ideology as an important principle, practices socialist core values and improves the professional ability of emergency response. It has set up a sound organization framework and formed a volunteer service management and publicity pattern to improve the leading system. The Regulations on Voluntary Service of Jilin Province have been adopted and revised to promote the voluntary service of “Building A Happy Jilin” and brands with wide influence such as “Jilin Volunteers in Action” and “Doing a Good Deed Every Day” have been formed. Jilin province co-founded Jilin Volunteer Service Management College with JISU based on the volunteer service work and achievements of JISU, striving to build the “Jilin model” of volunteer service, serving the overall revitalization of the province. This event will enhance the profession and quality of Jilin’s “Learning from Lei Feng” volunteer service in the new era, and accelerate its revitalization in the “14th Five-Year Plan”.

President Qin delivered a speech in which she said that the voluntary service work in the new era requires us to train highly professional and competent volunteer service workers. This includes organizers, managers, and project operators with patriotic feelings, professional knowledge, innovation, and the ability to integrate cross-border resources. The event reflects not only the recognition and trust of the Publicity Departments of the CPC Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee to the school volunteer service work but also new and higher requirements for it. JISU will pool its efforts to construct Jilin Volunteer Service Management College and give full play to the Training Base of China Volunteer Service Federation, striving to build China’s first-class training base of volunteer workers, research base of volunteer service characteristic discipline, and an international volunteer exchange base. It will cultivate high-quality, professional, and specialized talented people for the cause of voluntary service to contribute to the development of China’s voluntary service and the progress of social civilization in the new era.
