School of International Relations

On July 6th, 2021, the School of International Relations was officially established. It is established to meet the needs of international and domestic economic and social development for relevant professionals. The school currently has two disciplines: law and politics, and recruit undergraduates majoring in International Economic and Trade Rules under the discipline of law in 2021.

The major of International Economic and Trade Rules aims to cultivate students who are equipped with solid Chinese legal knowledge and practicing ability, as well as familiar with the legal systems of Britain and the United States, along with international trade rules. They are application-oriented and compound legal professionals applicable for foreign affairs with patriotic feelings, international vision, and cross-cultural communication skills. These students are able to engage in foreign-related legal work in international organizations and arbitration institutions as well as solve all kinds of foreign-related legal problems of overseas investment enterprises of “The Belt and Road”, domestic free-trade zones, free-trade ports, and foreign trade enterprises.

The School of International Relations gathers a group of senior professors and young doctors who love teaching and are well versed in the laws of education, and rigorous and sophisticated in academic research. In line with the “major + foreign language” mode of JISU, it explores a foreign legal personnel training mode -- “major +”, that is, “major + foreign language”, “major + industry”, or “major + employment” mode.

The School of International Relations also establishes an ideological, political, and moral education system based on patriotic education, an academic supervision and management system based on guiding and serving students, and a social practice system based on professional ability training. In order to enrich students’ “second classroom”, the School of International Relations establishes “Impartial Legal Academy” to combine general education (quality-oriented education) and professional education with the direction of national new liberal arts construction and the purpose of  a “whole person” education.

The School of International Relations attaches great importance to foreign exchanges. Relying on the cooperation resources with universities and educational institutions in many countries and regions, it creates superior conditions for students to study and visit abroad, and conducts academic exchanges as well as participate in international competitions and internships abroad. This meets students’ international learning experience and broadens their international vision. They can get familiar with professional international affairs and have a good professional quality to improve their core competence and employment competitiveness. At present, the School establishes strategic cooperative relations with 16 well-known law firms in Jilin province, and the cooperation base of industry-university-research integration with famous domestic intellectual property agency companies, providing an excellent practice platform for students in the international patent application, agency, and other foreign-related legal business.
