Northeast Asia Research Center
On July 7, Northeast Asia Research Center of JISU held a working conference to report the work of this semester and put forward the focus and requirements for the next period. Vice President, Qiu Ming, attended the meeting and made a speech. Heads and experts from Northeast Asia Research Center, Scientific Research Administrations, and relevant colleges attended the meeting.
Following its approval in early 2021 by the Country and Regional Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Northeast Asia Research Center of JISU has attracted attention from all walks of life. Northeast Asia regional research and national research of member countries in northeast Asia is one of the key directions of discipline construction of the university. Meanwhile, it is also the scientific research’s characteristic, formulated by JISU, to serve the needs of national development strategy and give play to its geographical advantages. As a feature and advantage of discipline construction and scientific research, Northeast Asia Research Center has become an important strategic task of JISU in order to build a high-level and private non-profit centenary university, as has been recognized by the university.
This meeting introduced the compilation of the periodical “Northeastern Asian International and Regional Studies” founded by the Northeast Asia Research Center, and made an in-depth analysis of the existing problems and future development of the current international and regional studies. The next step will focus on the “Jilin Opening-up Supporting Project”, in particular, on the northeast Asian information control and frontier security research, northeast Asian economic integration research, economic policies, industrial dynamics, cultural communication, image building and other aspects. These will combine with the needs of Jilin’s economic and social development to carry out all-round countermeasures research, forming a comprehensive revitalization of Jilin’s strategic decision-making report.
The meeting stressed that serving the economic and social development of Northeast Asia and Jilin Province is an important responsibility of the Northeast Asia Research Center. For the next step, the center shall strengthen characteristic research and countermeasure research, strengthen the top design, and submit high-level advisory reports to research the index system of think tank. All this is to be done to better fulfill talent training, scientific research, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange of university function, and to better reflect the school’s aim of “serving Jilin, benefiting the northeast, facing the nation, and moving towards the world” and endeavors to contribute to “Jilin Opening-up Policy”.
