Meng Wei, director of the Mental Health Education and Guidance Center, was appointed as a director of the National University Psychological Committee Research Cooperation Group. The Psychodrama “Forever Young”, created and performed by JISU students, won the “Top 100 Script Award” of the Third National College Psychological Melodrama.

The meeting was hosted by the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Working Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society and the National University Psychological Committee Research and Collaboration Group. Over 200 mental health educators from nearly 100 universities across the country were in attendance. The Director Unit of the National University Psychological Committee Research Cooperation Group was co-opted by the meeting. Standing out from 67 applicant units, JISU became a Director Unit of the National University Psychological Committee Research Cooperation Group after an earnest written application and oral defense.

The National University Psychological Committee Research Cooperation Group, affiliated to the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Working Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society, is a non-profit academic organization. It strives to promote the work of the National Psychological Committee through research, and helps further improve students’ mental health. Up until now, 146 colleges and universities have been incorporated as director units across the country.

Over recent years, the work on mental health and education for JISU students has been carried out steadily and effectively. Directed by positive psychology, JISU establishes a “san xin” (three key aspects on mental health) mental health and education model. Concretely, JISU implemented teaching work on mental health and education through “ming xin” (bright heart). It also organized colorful experience-oriented mental health and education activities through “yue xin” (pleasure heart). And it built an well-rounded prevention and intervention system on mental crisis through “zhu xin.” (helpful heart). The effect of these measures has been well accepted by teachers and students in JISU.

The access to the National University Psychological Committee Research Cooperation Group demonstrates the professional development of JISU’s peer consultant team on work. JISU will forge ahead, continue to deepen the work of psychological committee, and aim to establish a sound mental health education work system. It will also be committed to promoting cooperation and exchanges with amicable universities and contributing to the development of Chinese psychological committee issues.
