JISU Holds A Speech Contest with the Theme of “Study the Constitution and Follow the Constitution”

To implement the important spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping in constitutional learning and public education to improve students’ legal awareness. The initial topic was, “Learn the Law, Know the Law, Observe the Law and Protect the Law”, and the finals of the Speech Contest used the topic, “Study the Constitution and Follow the Constitution” The finals were held in the library lecture hall on the afternoon of October 14 in order to encourage students to comprehend, respect, and publicize the spirit of the constitution. The main goal was to strengthen students’ concepts of the rule of law on the basis of profound understanding.

   Eleven contestants expressed their opinions and understanding of the constitution from different angles by using specific legal cases. They had to have fluent language, clear thinking, and unique insights. The whole contest was tense and orderly, and won rounds of applause from the judges and the audience. After fierce competition, Ben Ying won the first prize, Wu Lingyao and Wang Jinyi won the second prize, Xiao Chaoyun, Xing Yidan and Liu Huan won the third prize, and the remaining five contestants won Awards for Excellence.

The activity provided the chance for students to deepen the understanding of constitution. It is universally acknowledged that young college students should carry forward the spirit, establish the authority, actively strive to and dignify, consciously adherinf to and unhesitatingly guarding the Constitution.
