In 2020, JISU intends to admit 499 postgraduate students. The examination work will cover 6 master’s degree programs and 25 majors, which set a new record in fields and scale of enrollment.

Among them, the 6 postgraduate programs include: Masters of Pedagogy, Masters of Translation and Interpretation (MTI), Masters of Education, Masters of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSL), Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of International Business (MIB). The 25 professional fields include: English Translation, English Interpretation, Russian Interpretation, German Interpretation, French Interpretation, Spanish Interpretation, Italian Interpretation, Japanese Interpretation (including Japanese and Korean Bilingual Interpretation), Korean Translation, Arabic Interpretation, Curriculum and Teaching Methodology, Preschool Education, Higher Education, Education (Education Economics and Management), Education Management, Preschool Education, Primary Education, Vocational and Technical Education (Finance and Business), Subject Teaching (English), Subject Teaching (Ideological and Political teaching), Subject Teaching (Chinese), Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, International Business and Accounting.

JISU attaches great importance to this re-examination work. According to the “Regulations on the Management of National Postgraduate Enrollment in 2020 (Teaching Letter20196th)” and the “Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Doing a Good Job in the Reexamination of National Postgraduate Students in 2020 (General Office20204th)”, JISU carried out the re-examination work of postgraduate enrollment in 2020 on a safe, fair and scientific basis. With remote examination using the internet, all schools adopted the method of “main platform + standby platform” and required candidates to prepare and test their devices in advance.

The re-examination is conducted in the form of structured questions and answers including a comprehensive interview as well as foreign language listening and speaking.  These questions examine the candidates’ basic professional knowledge, logic thinking, language proficiency, problem-solving ability, innovative potential, and moral quality. The content of the original professional written test is included in the remote comprehensive interview assessment.

The university's postgraduate admissions leadership team exercised unified leadership over the postgraduate re-examination work, and the graduate school was responsible for formulating and organizing the implementation of the re-examination work plan. Ten schools, including Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation, respectively set up postgraduate re-examination work leadership groups to create detailed plans and guarantee the implementation of principles. The university’s Discipline Inspection Committee supervised the process. The president office, the graduate school and all training schools organized and cooperated with relevant departments to ensure that the postgraduate re-examination work was carried out safely and orderly. The re-examination of candidates for transfer will be conducted after May 20th.
