JISU’s Students Carry on “the May Fourth Spirit”: Be a Struggler and Dream Chaser in the New Era

On the China’s Youth Day, Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, Chinese President, and also the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed festive congratulations and sincere greetings to the young people across the country. Xi Jinping mentioned that the young can become brilliant through exercise, and life can be perfected through making an effort. In the new era, the young Chinese must inherit and pass-on the May Fourth Spirit, hold firm convictions, stick to the people’s stance, and develop genuine skills devoting themselves to the great cause of building a great country. They should always maintain a hard-working attitude, always work hard and forge ahead with their fellow Chinese along the new Long March to realizing the Chinese Dream of national renewal.

The students of JISU were deeply touched by the greetings, encouragement, instructions and entrustment of the General Secretary Xi Jinping. They promised that they would live up to the expectations of the Chinese people and be dedicated strugglers and fearless dream catchers.

Live up to Expectations, Struggle Forward

Xu Tianyi, from Class 1801 in Art Education: General Secretary Xi Jinping has high expectation for us as youth. In this year of building a well-off society and reaching poverty alleviation, we are at a historical intersection of achieving the Two Centenary Goals. We will inherit and pass on the May Fourth Spirit and work hard to realize the “Chinese Dream”.

Huang Yiqian, from Class 1703 in French: Young people need to constantly enrich themselves, shoulder the social responsibilities, and be proactive and enthusiastic, in order to have a blueprint for the beautiful future of our motherland. We must be positive and devoted to hard work!

Zhao Jinmeng, from Class 1702 in German: We should hold convictions firmly, and develop genuine skills to repay our motherland.

Mu Yuanxin, from Class 1701 in English: If the youth are intelligent, China will be intelligent; if the youth are strong, China will be strong. Concerned for our motherland, we take pride in our identities --We are Chinese. The college students will shoulder national responsibilities, and straighten the backbones of  the Chinese nation. We will respond to the call of the state and fight for the prosperity of China.

Wang Jing, from Class 1701 in the Teaching Department: We should consciously integrate personal dreams into the great process of realizing the dreams of our country, China. “We should aim high”, have ideals and keep working hard

Tang Ziwen, from Class 1901 in Accounting: As young people in the new era, we are dreamers and doers. We should pass on the May Fourth Spirit, improve ourselves continuously, and fight for realizing the Chinese dream.

Chang Wenjie, from Class 1801 in Mongolian: We, the young, should be responsible and energetic, think diligently and improve our professionalism, and then all the characteristics will be inherited from generation to generation. We will meet the expectation of the General Secretary, inherit and pass on the May Fourth Spirit, accumulate all skills and improve ourselves to become pillars of the country.

Let the youth dedicate themselves in places where our motherland needs them most

Wang Yumeng, from Class 1801 in Tourism Management: The youth are the future of our country. . The nation will be full of hope and our country will have a brilliant future when its younger generations have ideals, abilities, and a strong sense of responsibility. As young people, we are greatly encouraged. We are determined to solidify our professional foundation, work hard, and dedicate ourselves in places where the motherland needs us most disregarding the difficulties and challenges.

Li Jiaqi, from Class 1701 in Chinese Language and Literature: It is demonstrated by actions of those born after the nineties, can be entrusted with great missions of constructing our country. The youth of the new era have ideals and a strong sense of responsibility; we will live up to the expectations of China.

Li Zhixifrom Class 1802 in Russian: As young people in the new era, we must have the spirit of being responsible, holding convictions firmly, working hard on the path of chasing dreams, and making contributions to the march to the national renewal in the new era.

Luan Kunyang, from Class1803 in Translation: As the youth of new era , we must have courage to bear hardships before we become mature and move towards a better future.

Li Guannan, from Class 1701 in Network and News Media: We, the youth, must inherit and pass on the May Fourth Spirit, hold convictions firmly, move forward bravely, serve the country, and never lose time in youth.

Wang Wenzhu, from Class 1804 in English: In the face of the epidemic,  our young people have never cowered, but moved forward and contributed quietly. We will do our part, hold convictions firmly and devote ourselves to the construction of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!

Efforts are the best gift for the youth.

Wang Runge, from Class 1702 in International Trade and Economics: Without struggle there are no young people. Therefore we must struggle for the youth. As a current college student, we must bear in mind the history of the May Fourth Movement, and pass on the May Fourth Spirit. We must be fearless of dangers and difficulty, and devote ourselves to the country, so that we may strive to be outstanding young people in the new era, and write a splendid chapter for youth!

Wang Yue, from Class 1901 in Business Administration: As General Secretary Xi Jinping said, as young people in the new era, we should study hard to develop skills, take initiative to shoulder responsibility and contribute to the cause of building a strong country. Each of us is a successor of the May Fourth Spirit. We must hold ideals and convictions firmly, and believe that the motherland will be proud of us someday in the future.

Wang Lihua, from Class 1703 in Korean: As General Secretary Xi Jinping said, “The youth can become brilliant through exercise, and life can be perfected by efforts.” As Chinese youth in the new era, we must continue to carry-on the May Fourth Spirit and take on the mission entrusted with us bravely! We must strive to be a youth with ideals, aspirations and a strong sense of our responsibilities in the new era!

ZhengYuqi, from Class 1801 in Human Resource Management:, Our young people in the new era will  keep the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping firmly in mind , advance with the motherland, and become dream chasers and doers of the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.

Zhang Chi, from Class 1901 in International Education of Chinese: As college students, we should stand on a new historical position to grow into an advanced society of youth that plays a pioneering role, and consecutively struggles to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, which is the historical mission of college students in the new era. To finish the “task of the times”, I deeply feel that we must challenge our minds, study hard and think diligently, temper ourselves through arduous work, and increase our overall quality. We should complete the mission entrusted to us for the country and her people.

Wu Buwei, from Class 1901 in Mongolian: The young people should keep up with the times, and shoulder the responsibility of realizing national rejuvenation consciously. The youth should be pioneers and strive to make contributions while they are young. All the struggles and efforts will be a splendid part in our lives!
