On April 28th, the event of learning from the Important Reply of General Secretary Xi Jinping，“New Media Platform @ Long Chain” was successfully completed. Based on the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Reply Letter to the Peking University Post-90s Medical Team for Hubei province, this event focused on the theme of “Fight Against the Pandemic together and be Patriotic by Practice”. A variety of online study activities were held for all JISU students. Through 15-days of publication and demonstration in about 20 WeChat accounts of JISU and related organizations, it fully inspired JISU students to implement the spirit, and reminded them of their sense of responsibility and mission-- “Remain true to their original aspirations and take due duties bravely”.

Students discussed the topic of “Learning the Spirit of Reply, Taking the Responsibility of Rejuvenation” on the new media platform through “speaking, singing, writing, shooting, and painting” and other forms. Moreover, they exchanged learning insights through “@ Long Chain”, used the vernacular to speak the truth, gathered positive energy with a song of righteousness and created a good atmosphere with good works.

Gao Xinru registered the travel history of community residents

Gao Xinru, from Class 1701 majoring in Editing and Publishing, shared her experience in the community volunteer service team. She said: “In the community’s work to fight against the epidemic, I have met like-minded friends and felt the power of unity. We have jointly built a protective wall to safeguard the lives of community residents. The era calls for the youth and the youth creates the future. At the most beautiful moment of my youth, I have made a contribution to our country's fight against the epidemic and left the most unforgettable memory for my life. I will not stop! I will continue to uphold the spirit of JISU in the future, strive to improve professionalism and contribute to the prosperity of the motherland and my hometown.”

Mu Yuanxin, a student from Class 1701 majoring in English, said: “The youth of today should have strong feelings about family and the motherland, integrating himself into the society, keeping pace with the times, sharing hope with the people, as well as read books to accumulate strength and manifest hope. The youth should master skills, enrich knowledge reserve, study diligently, and strive for excellence, letting the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation shine.”

Shen Simeng, from Class 1702 of Business English, combined with her experience and feelings in the community epidemic prevention and control volunteer service, wrote the poems “Who Are You, For Whom” and “Fight Against COVID-19”, expressing her admiration for the frontline workers against the pandemic.

Yu Yuxin, from Class 1801 majoring in Korean, carefully painted the ink and wash painting “Anti-epidemic”, which shows the heroic image of medical staff who strictly guard and protect people’s lives.

The students of the School of Economics and International Trade recorded the video ‘‘Listen to me: ‘thank you’ ’’. Through the heart-warming finger dances, they sent their appreciation to the Jilin Provincial Medical Team for their dedication to helping Hubei province. The students said: “Welcome home heroes; we all appreciate your protection of our lives, regardless of rewards and without regrets.”

Gong Aihong, a 2019 graduate student majoring in English interpreting, recorded the sign language video “Working together, fighting the Epidemic Disease”, which expressed the strong convictions and determination to work together to fight the epidemic. Zhang Zhe, Wang Cong, Yu Yue, and Zhang Xuewei, the 2019 graduate students of preschool education, jointly made the video “Fight against the Epidemic”, cheering on the heroes and China through painting and calligraphy.

The event aroused a strong response from the students. Everyone said that General Secretary Xi Jinping ’s Reply was not only an encouragement to the medical team for aiding Hubei province, but also an instruction and expectation for contemporary young college students. We should hold a dream, learn from practice and contribute our strengthen to the revitalization of the Chinese dream for the Chinese nation.
