Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the safety of JISU students studying abroad has been a concern. Therefore, the Student Affairs Office, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the Graduate School, and the relevant colleges swiftly carried out joint investigations and expressed apprehensions.

The department heads, counselors, and teachers contacted 401 students studying in twenty-nine countries, including South Korea, Japan, the United States, France, Australia, and the United Kingdom. By way of internet and telephone, these leaders received updates about health, and conveyed greetings and concerns from the school. The International Exchange and Cooperation Office kindly reminded the teachers and students participating in international projects, to consciously abide by the laws and regulations of the countries where they are residing and also to protect themselves.

In order to stay informed about the students abroad, the graduate school established a group for data submission to monitor prevention and to keep track of and report the health status of graduate students daily. The School of Western Languages established a WeChat group consisting of the dean, the Director of the Office of Student Affairs, the counselor, and all foreign students. The purpose of this group was to answer students' concerns and remind students to learn the effects that the epidemic caused, and to send our reminders about prevention awareness. The counselors of the School of English, the School of Oriental College, the School of Eastern European Languages, the School of International Business and Management, and the School of International Culture and Tourism are on duty online 24 hours a day, keeping in close contact with students abroad. JISU is always concerned about students' daily life and physical conditions, and told them to take care and endure  challenges with a positive attitude.

After a comprehensive investigation, all the students studying abroad are in good health. Many of them said they missed JISU so much and thanked leadership for the care and help from teachers. They will definitely take preventative measures to ensure that they can complete their studies safely.
