As the chairman unit of Jilin Province Women's Volunteers Association, JISU has been adhering to the concept of running a school into a non-profit one since its establishment. In the past 24 years, under the flag of “Public Benefit Spirit”, the school has set up the Youth Volunteer Association, connecting voluntary time with credit points and making it a part of the undergraduate talents’ cultivation plan. Based on their professional foreign language proficiency and responsible attitude, the students have won great applause from people in large international events such as Beijing Olympics, Shanghai World Expo, Asian Winter Games and Northeast Asia Expo. Nowadays, the statement “everyone takes an active part in voluntary work” has become a slogan, and “developing a public welfare spirit and fostering a sense of social responsibility on the part of our students” has been a key part for talents cultivation.
