On September 24, the 10th Congress of the Jilin Province Student Union was held. Gao Gangbing, Deputy Secretary of Jilin Province Party Committee, and other leaders attended this congress and awarded prizes to the “Top Ten University Students” of in Jilin Province in 2019. JISU’s Student, Su Kewei, received this distinguished award.

As a student of the class of 2016 who is majoring in tourism management of International Institute of Business Administration, Su Kewei has been actively volunteering and has a total of more than 2000 service hours and more than fifty public service activities under the spirit of public welfare during his time at JISU. In 2013, he established the Volunteer Association of Middle School Students and the Volunteer Association of University Students. The Volunteer Association of University Students has attracted students from more than fifty universities and colleges to participate in his philanthropic activities. His story was reported by Xinhua News Agency, China Civilization Network and other media.
In 2017, he thoughtfully explored the appropriate combination of tourism personnel training and voluntary service. Five national programsled bySu were selected into the National Culture and Tourism Volunteer Service Action Plan. Some of the projects included were the10,000 Tourism Talents Program, Sanxiaxiang (a program under which officials, doctors, scientists and college students go to the countryside to spread knowledge about science, literacy, and also offers medical services to farmers), and a program called College Students for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Moreover, some programs were also selected as key scientific research projects of Jilin Province Higher Education and a key practice team of the Marxist Self-study Organization Alliance of Jilin Province.
In 2019, he was recognized in many ways and was named a “Good Person of Jilin”, a “Changchun Youth Pioneer in New Era”, a “Top Ten University Student of Changchun City”, a “Star of Self-Improvement Among Jilin College Students”, and a “Star of Self-Improvement Among Chinese College Students”, and several more distinguished titles.
In addition, Ding Boyang, a JISU student of School of English Language was awarded as one of the “Top 100 University Students”.
Theses awards are a full demonstration of JISU's achievements in education and a full expression of our school's adherence to public welfare education for many years. JISU is training college students to actively participate in volunteer service and contribute to the society. It is a great motivation to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and improve their comprehensive quality of their surroundings.
