On Aug 24, a delegation of twelve people headed by Michal Kortyš, lieutenant governor of Pardubicky Kraj, and Ge Wanna, the Charge d’affaires of the Czech consulate in China, visited JISU and donated nearly 100 original Czech books to JISU’s library.
Wang Jie, Vice-President and Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, and Zhao Shuqin, Library Curator, and related personnel received the visitors.
The delegation visited the Global Village—a practice teaching center for international languages and culture and then attended the book donation ceremony on the fourth floor of the library.
Michal Kortyš expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He said that they spoke highly of JISU’s educational policy: “all for the sake of students to become successful and helpful citizens”, and they would actively help JISU develop its newly offered Czech major and construct the Czech Village located in the Global Village. Moreover, the delegation would actively strengthen cooperative relations between Czech universities and JISU in terms of student exchange, teacher exchange, and curriculum co-construction.
This visit was an important step in continuing to develop the Czech major, expanding international exchange and cooperation, enriching the collection of original foreign language books, and promoting international education.
