The 5th Northeast China French Instructors Training Program was convened at the International Exchanges Center of Jilin International Studies University (JISU) from May 11 to May 12, 2019.

Wang Jie, JISU Vice President, delivered a welcome speech to greet the participants, including two representatives from the French Consulate in Shenyang city – Ms. Claire-Lise Dautry, the Consul of Cooperation on Science and High Education, and Peng Meng, the Consul Assistant – and two experts on Pedagogy from Universite Lumiere Lyon 2 in France – Isabelle Guinamard and Marie-Dérèse Maurer. Other attendees were French instructors from the colleges and universities in the Northeast region of China.

 

 

 

Ms. Dautry presented several issues related to French education and emphasized that French instructors have played a great role in Sino- French cooperation and made undoubted crucial contributions to cultural exchanges between China and France. She expected that the training program would be beneficial to exchange instructional experiences between French instructors and explore facilitating teaching environments for French classes.

 

 

 

Isabelle Guinamard and Marie-Dérèse Maurer conducted two days of helpful seminar discussions about four topics, including: “Cultural Exchange and Preparation for Universities in France,” “French History and Intrinsic Social Culture,” “Appreciation of Poetry,” and “Old and Contemporary French.”

The training sessions helped to create useful study platforms for improving teaching design and widening world perspectives for French instructors. It has also greatly strengthened JISU’s further exchanges and cooperation with the French Consulate in Shengyang, as well as colleges and universities in France.
