Lecture on the “Chinese Dream• Running Start-ups” Sponsored by the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Jilin Province Held at JISU

On April 29th, the lecture on the “Chinese Dream · Running Start-ups” sponsored by the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Jilin Province (HRSSD) was held in the Multi-functional Lecture Hall. Over 500 students attended the lecture. Guo Weihua, the Director of Northeast Asia Financing Guarantee Co., Ltd (Changchun), and Liu Siming, the founder of Changchun Bashou Technology Co., Ltd, were invited to share experiences of starting their own businesses. Xia Lin, from Jilin People’s Broadcasting Station hosted the lecture.

This event was organized by the Jilin Provincial Talents Exchange and Development Center and co-organized by Jilin International Studies University and the magazine agency Business in Jilin and Beyond. Li Jiqian, Deputy Director of the Talents Exchange and Development Center of HRSSD, Yao Ming, counselor of the Talents Exchange and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center of HRSSD, and Su Dechao, Editor-in-chief of Business in Jilin and Beyond, attended the event. 

Li Jiqian delivered a speech in which he pointed out that this event was of significance as it was held at JISU on the occasion of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF). He also said that college students, as the elite among the youth, were in the peak period of life and they had the guts and potential for entrepreneurship. He hoped that all of them would take this opportunity to learn something from counselors’ experiences and reap their fruits in the future. With ability and wisdom, they will make great contributions to the society.

Miao Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of JISU and head of the Students Affairs Department, delivered a speech. She expressed her wishes that with the inspiration of the two outstanding entrepreneurs’ experiences, students should take time to clear their minds and summarize what they had learned. Then prepare well for their own startups in the future.

This lecture consisted of interviews and theme lectures. Guo Weihua shared his experiences and made a detailed analysis centering on four paths leading to entrepreneurship, laws of entrepreneurship and lessons from it, supplemented by stories from the past and personal experiences, which aroused students’ interest in practice. Liu Siming gave a theme lecture on Bashou Technology bringing changes to the career of law. A full picture of the status quo of innovation and entrepreneurship was shown, which enabled students to have a better understanding of entrepreneurship. During the lecture, students exchanged their views with successful entrepreneurs in a cordial atmosphere.

Students expressed that Guo and Li answered their questions and relieved doubts while imparting knowledge about entrepreneurship and sharing their experiences, which firmly strengthened the confidence and determination to start up their own businesses in the future.

Wang Jieping, a student from Class 1601 of Accounting, said: “What I learned from the lecture is that entrepreneurship is a time-consuming process. It is not only about adventures and great efforts, but also failures and setbacks. What we need to do is to improve ourselves if we want to go further along this way.”

Bai Xiaonan, a student from Class 1701 of Networks and New Media, expressed: “As a member of the Entrepreneurship Center of JISU, I think, for college students, the advantage of starting up their own businesses lies in improving their abilities, enriching life experiences and putting theories into practice. I will carry forward the spirit of entrepreneurship and lay a foundation for the future.”
