Oct 1, 2018 04:32 PM   International Exchang Changee

From September 23 to 25, the "One Belt, One Road" University Strategic Alliance Ecological Civilization Theme Forum was held at Lanzhou University. Our school was invited to attend the forum and formally joined the University Alliance of Belt and Road, becoming the first foreign language university in our country and the second university in Jilin Province after Jilin University to join the alliance.

At the forum, Chinese and foreign members from the “Belt and Road” alliance of universities shared new achievements in the construction of university alliances, portrayed a new chapter in the “Belt and Road” higher education community, and explored new experiences in the “One Belt, One Road” ecological civilization construction. Zhang Shizhen, deputy governor of Gansu Province, Yan Chunhua, president of Lanzhou University, and Dr. Juliette Biao, director of the Africa Office of the United Nations Environment Program, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the forum. Wang Haiyan, director of the Gansu Provincial Education Department, presided over the opening ceremony of the forum. Through the forum, our school has gained the experience of organizing high-end international forums, established contacts with universities at home and abroad, and reached preliminary cooperation intentions with some foreign universities.

The "Belt and Road" strategic alliance of colleges and universities was established in Dunhuang, Gansu Province on October 17, 2015. Lanzhou University, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, the Ural State University of Economics and other Chinese and foreign universities reached the “Dunhuang Consensus,” which is adhering to the concept of “interconnected, open and inclusive, collaborative innovation, cooperation and win-win.” The members will jointly build a “One Belt, One Road” higher education community to promote comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between universities and regions along the “Belt and Road” in education, science and technology, and culture, and thus help the social and economic development of countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. At present, there are more than 170 Chinese and foreign universities in the alliance.
