With vivid diplomatic examples, the lectures opened a window for learning about and understanding the foreign affairs service that creates an opening for our country, the present situations our country is in, opportunities and missions in the future, as well as China’s border and maritime issues.
The popularization of foreign affairs on campus activity is an innovative project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide an opportunity to enhance the understanding of our government’s foreign affairs strategies among young college students.
Liao Liqiang, the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Management, indicated that China’s diplomacy in the new era should uphold diplomacy for the people and serve the people wholeheartedly. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strives not only to be the “pioneer” in foreign affairs, but also the “doer”, serving domestic development.
Meng Yuhong, Counselor of Department of Consular Affairs stated that consular protection  is the fundamental service provided for citizens abroad and is the perfect interpretation of the policy “diplomacy for the people.” In order to ensure safety and legal profits of Chinese citizens when in danger or trouble abroad, the security network is being built up for better protection against war, natural disaster or illegal damages, etc..
Wang Xiaodu, the Ambassador of Yellow Sea Affairs defined that boundary and maritime diplomacy is at the center of regional, major country, and multilateral diplomacy. It makes great sense for us to properly handle boundary and maritime issues and solve the controversy peacefully through negotiation, which makes a significant contribution to our territorial sovereignty and maritime rights’ safeguarding, as well as stable and friendly relationship building with other countries.
The lectures provided our staff and students not only with a deeper understanding of the complexity of foreign affairs, but also a broader horizon for international outlook.
