Foreign Teacher in HQUFL Wins Second Prize in the International Chinese Reading Competition, Held in Jilin, China

   The International Chinese Reading Competition, sponsored by a bookstore and held in Jilin, China, came to an end on July 22th, 2018. The contest lasted for three months with more than 500 participants of foreign staff and overseas students. Professor Gerelt, Mongolian teacher of the Oriental Language Institute from HQUFL won the second prize in the final competition with her excellent reading of Stallion on the Milky Way.
    Professor Gerelt studied at Beijing Normal University and received a PhD in linguistics, and taught in the Chinese Language and literature department at Mongolian National University for several years. Gerelt’s excellent mastery of Chinese and abundant teaching experience makes her well-known and respected in her school.  
   The award showcases the different types of skills foreign teachers in our school possess and their deep love and interest for Chinese culture. Professor Gerelt indicated that the contest brought her a lot of challenges, but also the opportunity to be creative. She looks forward to making more contributions to bridge the cooperation in various fields between China and Mongolia.
