Dear instructors and colleagues,
I am Yulia from Russia. I am a 23-year-old postgraduate student, majoring in International Business at Jilin International Studies University (JISU) for the first year.
After arriving in China, I seemed to witness a completely different world, which profoundly made me both obsessed and captivated. The profound Chinese culture, traditional customs, lifestyles, and means of communication are all distinctively different from the Russian counterpart. All this has aroused my strong interest and I would like to know more about the unique Chinese culture.
It is a fact that the Chinese society and economy are experiencing revolutionary changes. During my study in China, I have witnessed such earth-shaking changes as the construction of new buildings and the development of large shopping malls and parks, the speed of which is the exact reflection of China's development. I am deeply shocked and amazed by it.
In my opinion, JISU can epitomize the social and economic development in China. Two years ago, when I first came to China, here in Changchun city, my university was still Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages (HQUFL) without a magnificent library, an equipped International Exchanges Center, and cozy dormitory. I lived in the apartment for international students near the Global Village, which has now been replaced by a brand new Global Village.
To my surprise, I got an opportunity to return to study at HQUFL again in late August, 2018, and I found an even further beautiful and fantastic campus here, beyond what I could have imagined.
What most amazed me was that the University was renamed from HQUFL to Jilin International Studies University (JISU) on December 13, 2018! I was inspired by this huge leap, and it has encouraged me to endlessly march on in perseverance!
Let us join hands together to continue to forge ahead and align our original inspirations accompanying JISU at this fresh beginning point. Let us work hard to achieve more fruits!
Thank you!
