JHA ROHAN (India)

I am JHA ROHAN from India. It’s a delight for me to study in China. For students from all over the world, China is becoming an increasingly popular destination for studying. First of all, I am very grateful for the scholarship offered by the Jilin government. It enables me to study in China and gives me a chance to learn about China. And I am very grateful to the teachers and friends of JISU for helping me get this opportunity.

I think studying in China is a better choice than studying in other countries because everything here is easy to adapt to. Even when you have difficulties, people around you are ready to help. In China, I can learn Chinese culture and language as much as I can. I really enjoy my university life here because the teachers and classmates are very friendly. The professors are good teachers and teach students well. The courses here are not monotonous, but interesting. After several months of study, I believe that the knowledge I learned in and outside of class will certainly broaden my horizons and help me pursue my dreams.

I like making friends with people from different countries. At this university, I became acquainted with international students and teachers from all over the world. It is a good opportunity to learn about the cultures of different countries and the lifestyles of different people.

Besides studying, I enjoy participating in various activities and competitions which JISU often organizes. Recently, I participated in “Green Eyes”, an environmental protection activity organized by JISU. I realized that the phrase “Everyone is responsible for protecting the environment” means something to put into personal practice rather than just a slogan to shout out. I am eager to participate in voluntary activities, especially those on the theme of environmental protection. I think such activities are particularly meaningful because environmental issues are a common concern of people from all over the world. I hope to help create a more beautiful earth with my own hands.

In conclusion, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to study at JISU. I will strive to cherish every day in the following two years and continue to contribute to exchanges between China and India and even beyond.

SU TREVIA (Indonesia)

It is a great achievement for me to come to China to study at a university. I want to thank the Chinese Scholarship Committee for offering me a “Silk Road” scholarship. Because of this scholarship, my parents and I do not have to bear the cost of my study and living.

It is the scholarship that makes it possible for me to come to China and study at JISU.

After I came here, I realized that there are many differences between China and my home country. I needed to experience, understand, and adapt more in order to live and learn here effectively.

On November 8, 2018, JISU held a volunteer activity. Together with other international students, I went to the Northeast Tiger Park in Changchun and hung up some slogan boards and wooden bird’s nests on trees to help protect the environment. I thought this activity was very meaningful and I learned a lot. This activity not only enhanced our awareness of the need for environmental protection, but also helped relay this need to others. In addition, we saw some lovely giant pandas. Pandas are China’s animals of good luck. It is said that you've never been to China if you’ve never seen pandas in China. I really hope that JISU can organize more volunteer activities like this in the future.
