Professor and Master Tutor, Zhang Mi, graduated from Beijing College of Foreign Trade (now named the University of International Business and Economy). Professor Zhang is the Director of the Italian Department at HQUFL as well as the Italian professional leader.

Professor Zhang formerly served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of International Business and Economy, the Dean of Italian Department and Director of the Center for Chinese and Italian studies.

In 2000, he became the first Italian Master's tutor in China, having taught Italian undergraduate and master's courses. Professor Zhang is the Vice President of the Chinese and Italian Research Association, honorary President of Chinese and Italian Teaching Research Association (former President), standing Director of the Chinese and Italian Translation Research Association, standing Director of the Chinese and Italian Literature Research Association, and Executive Vice President and Secretary General of European and American Students Association.

Professor Zhang has made outstanding contributions to the exchanges between China and Italy over the years and has been awarded the second, third and fourth class knighthood by the Italian President three times.
