Recently, the Project Summary Meeting of the “She × Digital Future” Creation Camp of the United Nations Development ProgramUNDPwas held online. Chen Litian from the United Nations Development Program Resident Representative Office in China, Song Dandan, Dean of the School of International Exchange, JISU and relevant personnel from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting. Nearly 70 representatives of volunteers and trainees participated in the sharing and communication.

Jilin International Studies University (JISU) participated in the project in October 2023. Aiming to empower rural revitalization with digital technology, this project enables an increasing number of young women in towns and townships to embark on their own digital paths and illuminate their futures with digital technology. Since the project’s launch, a total of 58 volunteers from JISU and 194 trainees from nearly 20 schools have participated. Through a one-month digital skills training and professional guidance, the project cultivates the scientific and technological innovation thinking of adolescent girls in rural areas, broadens their vision of sustainable development goals, and provides them with more support and opportunities.

Yong Zhenzhen, a representative of the volunteers and a student majoring in Higher Education in the School of Education, Class 2022, said, “This practical opportunity is extremely valuable, and it has also greatly enhanced my enthusiasm for professional studies. Learning digital technology is not only a skill improvement but also a beneficial exploration of my future career planning.” Jiang Huan, a representative of the trainees and a student from Nong’an Vocational Education Center, said, “Through this project, I have realized the importance of digital technology and I am full of confidence in the future. Thank you, the volunteers from JISU for your teachings and care.”

JISU will continue to participate in such projects, making positive contributions to promoting digital education and facilitating the achievement of sustainable development goals, expanding cooperation with international institutions such as the United Nations Development Program, building a practical platform to broaden students’ international horizons and enhance their ability to participate in and serve international affairs.
