Teaching and Research Positions at Jilin International Studies University


Qualifications

1) Language-related majors: Candidates are required to be native speakers of the target language. Non-language majors: Candidates are required to be English-proficient and hold a degree in a relevant field.

2) Educational background: Doctoral degree is preferred. Master’s or bachelor’s degree holders with a proven track record of extensive teaching experience will be considered.

3) Strong academic credentials and research potential in the relevant discipline.

4)Demonstrated excellent teaching skills, substantial experience in curriculum design and development, and a strong commitment to academic research and professional growth.

5) Capability to undertake teaching tasks for basic-level, advanced-level, specialized and cultural courses as assigned by the university.

6) Age requirement: Applicants must be under 59 years of age.


Workload & Working Hours

1.The standard weekly workload is 18 teaching hours, which encompasses both classroom teaching and extracurricular educational activities (including but not limited to language corners, student club supervision, academic consultation hours,office hoursand participation in research projects initiated by the department or university).

2.Each teaching hour is defined as 45 minutes of classroom instruction or 90 minutes of extracurricular activities per week.


Compensation & Welfare Package

1.Salary: A competitive monthly salary of no less than RMB 8,000 for language majors and no less than RMB 10,000 for non-language majors. The final salary is negotiable based on the candidate’s work experience, academic qualifications and professional achievements.

2.Accommodation: Free on-campus apartment with a living room, one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. The apartment is fully furnished with essential appliances and furniture, including a TV set, washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, oven/microwave oven, sofa, study desk, dining table and chairs.

3.Utilities: Free access to cold and hot water, gas and electricity. Internet service is available in the apartment; candidates are required to provide their own personal computers.

4.Airfare reimbursement: Up to RMB 7,200 will be provided to candidates who successfully complete a one-year employment contract. Note: Candidates must submit valid international flight tickets (proving travel between their home country/current residence city in China and the city where the university is situated) for reimbursement.

5.Transportation: Free shuttle bus service on weekends for shopping purposes.

6.Language support: Complimentary Chinese language courses for personal and professional development.

7.Meal subsidy: RMB 150 per month, which will be directly credited to thestaffcard. (Please note: No meal subsidy will be provided during off-campus work periods, winter vacation and summer vacation.)

8.Insurance: Comprehensive commercial accident insurance coverage during the employment period.

9.Visa assistance: The university will provide necessary support and assistance for candidates to apply for a Z visa (work visa) to China.
