Two American University Delegations Discuss Educational Cooperation with JISU

On the morning of May 25, 2024, a delegation of eight from Berkeley College, USA, led by Vice President and Founder of the Global Alliance, Mr. José A. Tavares, along with Executive Director Mr. Hongru Li and Assistant Director Ms. Yuan Sun, visited JISU. They were accompanied by Ms. Xiaohui Liu, Director of the Northeast China Office of Berkeley College, and Mr. Minghao Li, Assistant Director.

JISU’s Vice President Wang Zhiguo and Ms. Song Dandan, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, attended the meeting and engaged in in-depth discussions on educational cooperation.

Mr. José A. Tavares and his delegation toured JISU’s library, Global Village, and International Exchange Center. They spoke highly of the university’s internationalized environment and expressed strong agreement with the JISU’s philosophy of “student-centeredness, providing the most responsible education.”

At the meeting, both sides discussed and reached a consensus on the “3+1+1” undergraduate-to-MBA program, the “2+2” dual-degree joint program, as well as short-term and summer/winter exchange programs.

Both parties agreed that this visit deepened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation. They look forward to exploring more forms of exchanges and collaborations in the future, working together to promote the development of educational endeavors at both institutions and writing a new chapter in educational cooperation.

On the morning of May 28, Mr. Fengshan Liu, Vice President of Delaware State University, USA, visited Jilin International Studies University (JISU), accompanied by Ms. Jingyuan Gu.

JISUs Vice President Wang Zhiguo and Ms. Song Dandan, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, attended the meeting. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on educational cooperation.

They explored ways to strengthen international exchanges and collaborations in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, research cooperation, academic exchanges, and talent cultivation. They also discussed the advancement of the “3+1+1” undergraduate-to-master degree program, the “2+2” dual-degree program, as well as short-term and summer/winter exchange programs, reaching a consensus. Both sides noted that the visit was highly productive, not only deepening mutual understanding but also laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.

Mr. Liu and his delegation toured JISU’s library, Global Village, and International Exchange Center. They expressed strong agreement with the university’s commitment to the philosophy of “Do everything for the students’ growth, success, and achievement” and “student-centeredness, providing the most responsible education,” as well as its efforts to create an internationalized environment.
