Recently, a three-member delegation from Hoseo University in South Korea, led by its Vice President, visited Jilin International Studies University (JISU). Vice President of JISU, Wang Zhiguo met with the visiting delegation, and both sides exchanged views on deepening friendly exchanges between the two institutions and exploring future directions for cooperation. The meeting was attended by Song Dandan, Dean of the School of International Exchange, Bai Kecheng, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and relevant officials from the School of Oriental Languages, JISU.

The two sides held in-depth discussions, exploring future international cooperation projects and reaching a consensus. Both parties unanimously expressed their commitment to strengthening exchanges and cooperation, and jointly promoting the development and progress of the two institutions in the field of education.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited JISU’s library, Global Village, and International Exchange Center, gaining a deeper understanding of the university’s teaching and research environment. They highly praised the school’s efforts in creating a high-quality educational atmosphere.

JISU’s School of Oriental Languages has been enrolling undergraduate students since 2004 and began admitting graduate students for the Master Degree of Translation and Interpretation program in 2012. Guided by the philosophy of “basic practice + professional practice + comprehensive practice + innovative practice,” the Department of Korean Language has engaged in deep cooperation with foreign universities in areas such as joint student training, collaborative curriculum development, and faculty exchanges, advancing the process of internationalizing its programs. The Korean Language major was recognized as a provincial-level first-class undergraduate program in 2019 and was rated as a national-level first-class undergraduate program in 2022.
