On May 22, under the organization of JISU’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office, 93 students who were awarded national scholarships for studying abroad participated in the pre-departure training session of Ministry of Education.
JISU plans to send 150 students to 15 universities in countries such as Russia, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Portugal, Italy, and France for further studies in the second half of 2024. The students participating in this training session come from various majors in JISU’s School of Central and Eastern European Languages, the School of Oriental Languages, and the School of Western Languages. They will begin their studies in August at partner universities such as the University of Portsmouth in the UK, Hanyang University in South Korea, Lumière University Lyon 2 in France, Tomsk State Pedagogical University in Russia, Minsk State Linguistic University in Belarus, and the University of Aveiro in Portugal. They will participate in dual-degree, exchange, and study-abroad programs, with durations ranging from six months to two years.
The training was organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, hosted by the China Scholarship Council, and co-organized by the Education Department of Jilin Province and Northeast Normal University. It aims to provide professional and targeted guidance and assistance to students preparing to study abroad. Strengthening pre-departure training for students is a crucial aspect of JISU’s international exchange initiatives. The International Exchange and Cooperation Office has previously conducted pre-departure training for programs such as the TCSOL Volunteer Program, the Work and Travel USA Program, and the exchange program with Burapha University in Thailand. These training sessions cover preparatory work, overseas study, foreign affairs discipline and etiquette, personal safety, and other related topics, ensuring a secure and productive experience for students during their time abroad.
