The Institute of Regional and Country Studies is dedicated to serving the strategic needs of China’s peripheral diplomacy and international communication. It aims to support the comprehensive revitalization and high-quality development of Jilin’s opening-up, as well as the international dissemination of Jilin’s local culture. As a high-end think tank for Northeast Asian regional and country studies, the institute integrates five key functions: national condition research, document translation, policy advisory services, international communication, and talent cultivation. Its research focuses on the national conditions of Northeast Asian countries, international cooperation and regional economic integration in Northeast Asia, translation of historical and contemporary political documents related to Northeast Asia, and comparative studies of Northeast Asian multiculturalism and international communication. By concentrating on Northeast Asian issues, the institute provides high-value consultations and recommendations to governments and enterprises. The institute’s research team has undertaken over 60 provincial and ministerial-level projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund, published more than 170 academic papers, and submitted over 20 policy advisory reports that have been adopted. These achievements have established a significant academic influence for the institute.
