JISU’s Teachers Win the First Prize in the Fifth College English Teachers’ Basic Teaching Skills Competition

At 15th, January, the winner list of the Fifth College English Teachers’ Basic Teaching Skills Competition was announced. Thirteen teachers from the school of English respectively won five national first prizes of the micro class group, and one national second prize of the demo lesson group; as well as, nine teachers won one provincial first prize, three provincial second prizes and five provincial third prizes of the recorded lecture group. Six teachers won one provincial first prize, one second prize and four third prizes in the demo lesson group.

In the national micro-class competition, Micro Class Works, “A Bite of China: Chinese Food” delivered by Song Xiuyan, Gao Yunxia and Zou Hong, “English Writing --- Comparison and Contrast” by Gao Yan, “How to Write the Cover Letter” by Luo Wenjing and Cheng Yaru, “Metonymy and Synecdoche” by Cao Lili, Zhang Yuhui and Zhang Meng, and “Background Introduction to The Glorious Messiness of English” by Wang Haiou, Qin Si and Yang Yongbo won the national first prizes. The class “Shame” made by Zhang Yumei won a national second prize in the demo lesson group. In the provincial competition, “Changes in the Relationship Between Animals and Mankind --- Rights of Animals” taught by Li Xiaolin won the first prize of the recorded lecture group, and Zhang Yumei’s “Shame” also won the first prize of the demo lesson group.

This competition has fully demonstrated the teaching skills and styles of English teachers in JISU, and created favorable conditions for consolidating the basic teaching skills, promoting teaching reform and innovation, and improving the quality of class instruction.
