Recently, the 11^th“SFLEP Cup” and the 16^thCollege English Teaching Contest of Jilin Province has successfully concluded. In the competition of undergraduate audio-visual and speaking group, Zhang Yuhui, a teacher from the College English Teaching Department of School of English (CETSE), Jilin International Studies University, ranked first in total score and won the grand prize. Wang Lingling, a teacher from CETSE, won the first prize in the comprehensive undergraduate competition.

As the first nationwide foreign language teaching contest held in China, the “SFLEP Cup” Young Teachers Teaching Contest has been successfully held for eleven years. The contest aims to promote colleges with foreign language teachers to study foreign language teaching theories, explore the unity of ideological and political education and foreign languages teaching, actively participating in the construction of multimedia teaching resources such as micro-lectures, and making great efforts to innovate their classroom teaching. It is also designed to promote the team construction of “Tutors Within and Out of University”, to explore the development of foreign language teaching system with Chinese characteristics.

This competition fully demonstrates the achievements of college English reform in our university. It also prepares a platform for improving young teachers’ professional quality, exchanging teaching achievements and displaying teaching styles, and plays a positive role in deepening classroom teaching reform and exploring new English teaching classes with JISU’s characteristics.
