On the morning of October 20th, a special research team for private universities arrived at JISU. The team consisted of Ju Shuming, the second-level inspector of the Education Department of Jilin Province, and Du Keliang, the director of the private education management office. They listened to President Qin He’s special reports on development and construction, discussed and exchanged views on related work, and gave feedback on the review opinions of the 2018 annual inspection expert group. Qiu Ming (Vice President), Miao Jing (Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of JISU), and other school leaders of relevant departments also attended the conference.

The purpose of the survey was threefold. First, to thoroughly implement the national and provincial opinions on encouraging social forces to develop education and promote the healthy development of private education. Second, to fully grasp the development of private universities. And third, to carry out investigations and studies on the theme of "speeding up the construction of modern school systems and promoting the standardized and healthy development of private universities”. The survey will promote private colleges and universities in Jilin province to strengthen the construction of the internal governance system and maintain a sustained and healthy development.

Reports of Special Theme from President Qin He

In the report, President Qin He reviewed the development and construction of the school over the past 25 years, and outlined the school’s consistent philosophy, distinctive advantages in school-running, as well as the outstanding results achieved in education and teaching, scientific research, talent training, teaching staff, international exchanges, and campus culture. President Qin He reported the school's goal and grand blueprint for its commitment to "second entrepreneurship", building "six highlands", and building a characteristic high-level university. President Qin He also exchanged views on the problems, causes and countermeasures in the development of private colleges and universities, and put forward positive suggestions for the formulation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the development of private education in Jilin Province.

Ju Shuming also delivered a speech where he pointed out that Jilin University of Foreign Studies is a banner of private universities across the country and the pride of Jilin private universities. The school has advanced school-run concepts, scientific top-level design, and has always been in a leading position in all aspects of construction,. It has also played a leading and demonstrative role in the construction and development of private universities. The survey team will take the opinions and suggestions by the school seriously and fully support the school to move towards a high-level university.

President Qin He said that this year marks the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and the school is scientifically planning the "14th Five-Year Plan" to start a new journey of the school's "second entrepreneurship". Standing at a new historical starting point, the school will surely shoulder the mission of building a high-level university with characteristics, make unremitting efforts, forging ahead, pushing the school to a new level, and making new and greater contributions to the development of private higher education.
