On September 22, on the occasion of the third Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival, the Certificate Ceremony of the delegates of the 2020 National Top Ten Farmers and the Second Session of the National Most PopularAgricultural Technician conducted bythe Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China was held in Yuncheng city, Shanxi province, which is the main stage of the Harvest Festival. Cai Xue, alumnus of JISU, won the title of “Top Ten Farmers in China”.

Cai Xue, a graduate from the Business English Department of JISU in 2013, returned home to start a business in 2014, and nowsheis the chairman ofNongfeng Rice Specialized Planting Cooperative in Shulan city and the General Manager of Shulan Jimmy Grain Co., Ltd. The past 6 years have witnessed the road of the production, processing and sales of green organic rice, income increase, and rural revitalization. The experience of Cai Xue, a post-90s new professional farmer and a graduate who successfully startedabusiness, shows a new path that can be copied and learned.

Since 2014, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China has implemented a selection funding project, and selects 10 outstanding farmers with moderate scale of operation, advanced production technology, and obvious influence over annual economic growth. These farmers will be funded by the China Agricultural Science and Education Foundation. It aims to further inspire the enthusiasm of farmers in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship, promote revitalization of rural talents, and encourage them to contribute more to the modernization of agricultural and rural development.
