JISU Holds a Video Conference on Educational Cooperation with Iranian Alamai Tabatabai University

On September 21, with the assistance of the Iranian Embassy in China, our school held a video conference on educational cooperation with Alamai Tabatabai University of Iran. President Qin He discussed community with Abbas Ali Wafai, a cultural counselor of the Iranian Embassy in China, and Hussein Salimi, the President of Alamai Tabatabai University through an online video meeting.

During the meeting, President Qin He expressed her gratitude to the Iranian Embassy in China for the promotion of this talk. On behalf of JISU, she also conveyed greetings to all the teachers and students of Tabatabai University, who are fighting on the front line against Covid-19. She pointed out that JISU is committed to cultivating high-quality practical foreign language and intelligent workers in the field of foreign affairs in hopes that they will make contributions tothe "Belt and Road Initiative" progress. She looks forward to cooperating with Tabatabai University in such fields as teacher-student exchange, joint construction of a research center and translation of Chinese and Iranian cultural works. These projects will help to build a bridge for exchanges and development between China and Iran.

President Salimi expressed his thanks for the concern and support offered by President Qin He. He says Tabatabai University has always maintained sound cooperative relations with Chinese universities, and is expected to develop extensive and in-depth cooperation with Jilin International Studies University in the fields of student exchange, teaching and research, academic programs and so on under the"Belt and Road Initiative".

The participants included Dong Guangcai, the Director Chief of International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Xiao Chuanguo, the Dean of School of Oriental Language, Shen Xudong, the Director of Persian Teaching and Research Department, and Zhou Yao, the Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department.

Alamai Tabatabai University is the largest public university of humanities and social sciences in Iran. It enjoys a good reputation in anthropology, sociology and management, with more than 17,000 students and 600 teachers. The university has established Iran's first"Center for Chinese Studies"in cooperation with a Chinese university.

This conference built on the friendly relations between JISU and Alamai Tabatabai University, and created conditions for JISU to carry out educational exchanges and cooperation with countries along the"Belt and Road"and to also promote the internationalization of Arabiclanguage major.
