On September 10, the 36th Teachers’ Day Commendation Convention & Theme Arts Performance celebration activity was held in the school auditorium of the World Bridge Building at JISU. Around 1pm, more than 600 faculty members of JISU walked into the assembly room joyfully and blissfully with carnations in their hands. President Qin He and other leaders attended the convention and extended warm greetings to all teaching and administrative staff. The convention began with the solemn national anthem.

The honors- and rewards-granting activities were conducted first, with Miao Jing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of JISU, hosting the award ceremony. Yang Fumin, Secretary of the CPC committee of JISU, announced the“Decision on honoring Excellent Collectives and Individuals in 2019-2020 Year”, and college officials with Qin He at its core presented the medals, rewards and prizes to the qualifying units and individuals.

A total of 21 advanced collectives and 88 outstanding individuals, who have made great contributions to epidemic prevention and control work, talent cultivation, teaching and scientific research, administrative management, as well as social services, are commended in the conference. The particular rewards are given to tutors with honorary titles of “National Senior Translators”, “Leading Talents of National, Provincial and Ministerial Level” and “The Seventh batch of Top-notch Innovative Talents in Jilin Province”; outstanding mentors who tutor their students gain the first prize in the “Superstar Cup” of the First Jilin Province Intelligent Classroom Teaching Innovation and win various prizes in “the third BETT National Business English Translation Competition Finals (Translation)”, as well was teachers who are selected as advanced typical characters by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China in the activities of providing voluntary services like model Leifeng by virtue of “the Best Volunteer Project”.

Meanwhile, Principal Qin He issued certificates and presents to 33 faculty members who have worked in the school for more than 10 years, and sent cordial blessings one by one, encouraging everyone to carry forward the spirit of ownership and keep working hard.

The Teachers’ Day Commendation Convention & Theme Arts Performance celebration activity is a major event during the post-epidemic period because it is just at the end of the “13th Five-Year” Development Plan, at the beginning of the “14th Five-Year” Plan, and at the crucial time to promote the building of high-level universities with characteristics. After the major meeting of all faculty on August 26, the grand gathering now in JISU can also be regarded as a tribute celebration of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic, and the further development of implementing the thoughts and central instruction spirits of “Second-Undertaking” proposed by president Qin He!

After the commendation activity, a total of 15 brilliant art performance programs choreographed and performed by Chinese and foreign teachers and students, bringing the blessings and joy of holiday to the faculty members. These wonderful programs, through song and dance, poetry recitations, sitcom, multilingual solo and joint singing and others, express the teachers’ love for education, school and students, and send good wishes from the teachers and students!
