On April 30th, President Qin He and the representatives of the Confucius Institute Council of JISU held a video conference of the Confucius Institute Board of Directors and the New Jersey City University in 2020. The attendees listened to the report on the fight against COVID-19 of JISU’s students in the United States and the teachers of the Confucius Institute. They also listened to the reports from the Chinese and foreign deans on the Confucius Institute’s 2020 budget and 2019 final accounts of revenue and expenditure, held discussions and made positive suggestions in terms of the budget, financial accounts and the renewal of cooperation agreement.

During the conference, President Qin He expressed her sincere gratitude to the New Jersey City University because the University offered concern and assistance to the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute and the Sino-foreign cooperative education programs during the fight against the pandemic. She is willing to share the school’s experience on fighting against COVID-19 with the New Jersey City University and provide support within her ability. It is believed that through the tests of the pandemic, the cooperation between these two schools will be further deepened.

Sue Henderson, the President of New Jersey City University, expresses her gratitude for JISU which has provided some anti-virus materials in this time of need. She says, the university will endeavor to ensure the health and safety of teachers and students in America and guarantee online teaching quality for students. She hopes the two universities will further enhance exchange and cooperation, promoting the education of the two schools to a new level.
