Recently, JISU’s project “Multilingual Translation+ Volunteer Team for Provincial and Municipal Center Service” was selected as "Excellent Project of the Communist Youth League of Changchun City in 2019". Based on the “multilingual translation” model, the project provides a translation service for fifteen languages: English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Mongolian, Indonesian, Persian, Polish, and Czech. Meanwhile, by combining characteristics of other disciplines at JISU such as literature, economics, management, teaching, art, and engineering, the project takes full advantage of its foreign languages specialty and serves in various provincial and municipal volunteer projects including “EXPO 2010”, “The 4^thSnow Exposition,Changchun Film Festival·China”, “China’s Industrial Innovation and Development Summit”,“China’s Annual Reformation Conference and Yearbook Compilation Meeting”; previous large-scale exhibitions such as "China-Northeast Asia Expo", "Jilin Entrepreneur Convention ", and "The Agricultural Fair"; and large-scale sport events including "Changchun’s International Marathon " and the "UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup".

So far, more than 89,000 volunteers have taken part in the project with more than one million hours of service. Their hard work was rewarded with national, provincial and municipal honors, and was repeatedly featured in the news, gaining widespread praise.

This selection provides students with a wonderful new opportunity for voluntary service work at JISU as it not only gives them valuable real world experience, but also helps foster in them a strong sense of social responsibility.
