On March 20, Wang Yaru, an Arabic major graduate of JISU, participated in the online spring job fair for 2020 graduates. She found a job opening for an Arabic translator in a foreign trade company and an online overseas operator in charge of an Internet company’s website.Before meeting with the companies, she prepared her resume, practiced for her interview, and evenwore light makeup make-up and a suite.“Even though I prepared to the best of my ability, I’m still a little nervous. It’s my first time doing anything like this online.” Wang Yaru said, "I did my research and found these two great companies. It was a surprise for me that one of them immediately interviewed me online. Everything went well during the interview, and I look forward to hearing back from them."
The Online Spring Job Fair for 2020 graduates was held by JISU in order to further implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the employment of graduates,to implement the requirements of the Jilin Province Education Department during this "war against the epidemic" month, to enhance the effectiveness of landing jobs for graduates and recruitment for employers and to achieve higher quality employment of graduates.The platform that has been set up has proven to be convenient and effective for employers and graduates alike.
Participating in this online job fair, there are 381 high-quality companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jilin and other provinces. These companies are in fields including manufacturing, education, cross-border e-commerce, finance, wholesale and retail, information transmission and technical services among other industries. Comprehensively, these companies are providing 19,481 jobs and they are in need of people with degrees in English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic and other foreign language and even non-foreign language degrees such as Chinese, literature, economics, management, education, etc. This event attracted more than 2000 graduatesfrom JISU and other schools.
Qile Muge browses through relevant job postings
Qile Muge, a business English graduate, hoped to find a job as an administrative assistant and other related positions.She carefully read the recruitment information, delivered online her resume and studied up on the detailed job requirements before the interview. Qile Muge said, "This particular period has certainly had an impact on our employment, but the state and JISU help usin a variety of waysand created this great 'Cloud Employment' platform. Many companies are providing employment opportunities for graduates, and we’ve been able to better understand the job market and effectively find jobs that interest us.”

Since January 30, JISU has taken a series ofeffective measures to ensure that graduate employment is not affected by the epidemic outbreak. Firstly, it established a weekly report on employment data systemin the epidemic period for keeping an eye on employment and needs of graduates. Secondly, it actively used the employment information network and WeChat platform to publish all kinds of recruitment information, to make great online publicityand mobilization and make dockingwork between graduates and employers.Third, the Admissions and Employment Office as well astake schools took the initiative to contact enterprises, to help graduates post resumes, video interviews, for achieving accurate employment. Fourth, JISU implemented the “one plan for one student” policy and took care of each graduate to learnabout their real conditions of employment and made targeted guidance for them.
