In order to implement the deployment and requirements to join the fight against COVID-19, and to ensure that all teaching work during this semester can be carried out in an orderly, high-quality and efficient manner, JISU held a video conference about teaching online. The conference was held by Liao Anyong, the Assistant to the President. Deans, deputy deans, assistants and related leaders of each department attended the meeting.
Zhuo Jun, Director of Teaching Quality Evaluation Office, introduced online teaching quality and feedback during the first two weeks of this semester. Chenjing, Director of the Teaching Development Center, shared guidance about online teaching and a teacher training plan. Xiaobei, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, noted the key work of innovation and entrepreneurship is teaching.
Liao Anyong arranged key teaching tasks for this semester. He pointed out that in this semester, JISU will combine the closing requirements of the “Thirteenth, Five-Year Plan” for our school. This plan included high-level university construction goals according to the epidemic prevention and control, a focus on the overall employment and work requirements of the Ministry of Education, the Provincial Department of Education and the school, comprehensively promoting the construction of a “new humanistic discipline” as the starting point, and carrying out teaching with the core of strengthening professional content construction and improving the quality of training young professionals.
In terms of discipline, JISU will launch the “new humanistic discipline” construction, implementing theFirst-class Undergraduate Major Construction Plan,creating the “Fourteenth Five-Year” discipline development plan, and will prepare to apply for new majors. In curriculum and teaching reform, the school will initiate the construction of in-depth Ideology and Politics curriculum projects and include a selection of outstanding Ideological and Political teachers who fully promote the “Gold Courses of JISU” projects that strengthen the coordination between online and offline courses. These projects also promote education and teaching reform. In practical teaching and cooperative education, JISU will carry out “Seven Standards” in practical teaching, establishing a platform to manage professional internship projects, formulate “Fourteenth Five-Year” cooperative education development plans, build projects of “One Specialty, One Product”, and fully promote key projects of cooperative education.
Liao Anyong emphasized that due to the vigorous participation of all teachers, online teaching has been launched in an organized fashion. He hopes that the staff can keep their enthusiasm, prepare teaching plans, gradually push forward online teaching, and achieve well-organized transition from online teaching to the offline classrooms, ensuring high-quality teaching and the desirable effects of learning to the students.
