Recently the List of universities that are to be considered high-level university development projects in Jilin Province has been released. JISU was selected into the A-class of the non-public schools that are part of the “Development Project for High-level Application-oriented Universities”. Meanwhile, the Provincial Department of Education published final results for the development categories of colleges and universities in the province. Now it has been recorded on the provincial government’s document: JISU is an official application-oriented university.

The selection was based on the deployment of provincial government and theImplementation Plan for Development Projects of Special High-level Universities and Special High-level Disciplines in Jilin Province, and selected by an expert review committee (jointly formed by the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Department of Finance, and the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security). The Development Project for Special High-level Universities implements goal management, dynamic review and examination, increased support and a development period of 5 years.

The selection fully demonstrates the admirable quality of the management and education at JISU. The school will seize this great opportunity to fully implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on education and the spirit of the National Education Conference. Consequently, JISU will followDevelopment Strategy Plan for the New Decadeand attach great importance to six aspects: cultivating young talents, conducting scientific research, providing social services, emphasizing cultural heritage and innovation, and taking part in international exchange. Moreover, to increasingly better fulfill the fundamental task of “Cultivating talents with good morality and merit”, the school will further rely on its international advantages to continually improve education and closely adhere to “the Belt and Road Initiative” and serve Jilin by helping with provincial revitalization through the quality education and services it provides.

JISU will comprehensively strengthen its humanities programs, increase the quality and number of majors, and continuously improve the teaching system and facilities. JISU will also further pursue scientific research which will help improve its capability to serve the regional economy and China as a whole. In addition, JISU will continue to expand its international programs.
