The Ministry of Education (MOE) hasreleased the list of newly approved undergraduate programs in 2019. JISU will have three new BA language programs: Thai, Serbian and Hungarian. After the new addition, the university now has altogether 18 language programs.

Additionally, JISU also adds two majors: Digital Media Technology and Visual Communication Design. The digital media technology is awarded in Bachelor of Engineering, and the visual communication design is awarded in Bachelor of Arts. The length of schooling both are four years. Now JISU has a total of 41 undergraduate majors, covering 6 disciplines including the literature, economics, management science, education, arts, and engineering.

JISU has always stick to the national strategy and the development demand of local foreign economics to introduce new programs. In the future, it will further optimize the structure of discipline and specialties for the construction of "New liberal arts" and improve the intersection, infiltration and integration between disciplines and specialties to build a diversified cluster in accordance with the pillar industry, high-tech industry, modern services and other development needs of Jilin province.
