The finals of the 12th National French Speech Contest of“FLTRP Cup”(Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press Cup) was held in AnqingNormal University on November 30. Instructed by Song Xuezhi, Dean of School of Western Languages, and Gong Yan, Director of French Department, Shi Jinyu, a contestant from JISU won the second prize and ranked among the top six in the country.

This competition is a professional discipline competition hosted by the College French Steering Committee of the French Sub-Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese French Teaching Society, and the Education Department of the French Embassy in China. French-major students from 96 universities or colleges in China participated in the preliminary round and 12 contestants advanced to the finals.

The participation and prize won by JISU’s student was of great significance for deepening the education and teaching reforms of JISU, increasing the students’ motivation of learning French, and promoting the development of JISU’s French major program.
