On November 27, the School of International Culture and Tourism of JISU was officially established. Through school-government cooperation, and strong support, it will fully utilize the cultural tourism resources of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jilin Province and our international advantages in running schools to carry out culture and tourism education and personnel training in Northeast China. It will conduct research on the topic of Snow and Ice on the International Silk Road, etc., to cultivate application-oriented, compound, and outward-oriented skills to meet the needs of the cultural tourism industry in Jilin Province. It will focus mainly on the development of the ice-snow industry and ice-snow tourism, so as to serve the development of the country's cultural tourism industry.

It is considered the first industrial school in Jilin province to carry out theoretical research on international ice and snow cultural tourism and train international ice and snow capabilities. The Institute has set up an international ice snow cultural tourism research office to provide intellectual and international resource support for Jilin Province to build the ice-snow Silk Road and develop ice-snow cultural tourism; The college adopts the operation mechanisms of "teaching, scientific research and industry", and innovates the application-oriented personnel training mode of "ice snow tourism + English + small languages", and carries out the training of tourism management skills in the form of "school, government, industry and association", which promote the in-depth integration and development of "ice and snow, culture and tourism", that achieves cooperation in production, learning and research. All of these crafts works together to educate and develop people.

President Qin He mentioned that the School of International Culture and Tourism (International School of Snow and Ice) is a strong support for the school to serve national construction and help Jilin Province to fully and comprehensively revitalize. Moreover, it is also an important measure for the university to promote the construction of the new liberal arts college which will innovate the training mode of students and cultivate international applied talents. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that, “the ice and snow are also gold and silver mountains.” The school will give full play to its professional advantages and talent training characteristics to cultivate international culture and tourism talents, ice and snow personnel, and help bring Jilin's ice and snow culture and industry to the world.

The School of International Culture and Tourism (International School of Snow and Ice) includes two undergraduate majors in tourism management and hotel management, with a total of more than 500 teachers and students, including foreign students from Russia and Indonesia. The college attaches great importance to the construction of specialization courses, and has established provincial school enterprise cooperation courses, provincial online excellence courses, school level "golden Courses" and excellent teaching reform projects. The constructed Intelligent Tourism professional group has been approved as the Transformation and Development Demonstration Professional Group of Jilin Province. In terms of practical teaching and cooperative education, it has two on-campus training rooms and fourteen off-campus internship bases such as Shanghai Disney Resort, Beijing Oriental Grand Hyatt Hotel, and Changchun Hyatt Hotel. In terms of innovation and entrepreneurship education, undergraduate entrepreneurship projects guided by the college won the gold medal of the fifth "Internet +" Jilin Province University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the sixth during the "Creating Youth" Jilin Province Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Teachers and students of the school have participated in the organization, translation, and service of Shanghai World Expo, Asian Winter Games, Jilin Ice and Snow Industry Expo and Changchun Ice and Snow Tourism Festival, Changchun Jingyue Vasa International Ski Festival, Changchun World Sculpture Conference and other international exhibitions. They also participated in the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games promotional video "Meet Beijing in 2022", which showed the youthful look of China in front of the people of the world.
