On Oct 25, Ren Xiaoping, Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Namibia, Antigua and Barbuda, was invited by president Qin He to give alecture on“Diplomatic Experience of a Female Diplomat”.

As one of very few women ambassadors in China, Ren ever spent more time on diplomatic efforts to make outstanding contributions for national interests, earning a reputation for China. In a peaceful way, she maintained sovereignty, dignity and territorial integrity of China, protected the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens overseas, created/served for creating a favorable immediate and wider environment for reform and opening-up and economic development as well as for the highest interests of the China and Chinese people.

In the lecture, Ren concluded some indispensable quality needed for diplomatic personnel, including a strong patriotism, lofty sense of mission, selfless dedication, high political sensitivity, rigorous work style, strong cross-cultural communication skills and strict organizational discipline. Ren highlighted that investigation is the foundation of the diplomatic work and knowing each other is the premise. And, when diplomatic personnel fully display their abilities, they should also seek truth from facts, have a foundation, see big with small and have strategic vision.

Ren used three key words to conclude her 50-year diplomatic work, which are sincerity, mission and dedication, and explained three words to JISU’s students who want to move towards foreign affairs and diplomacy related industries in the future. She said, “Excellent foreign language skills are the foundation and right political stand and loyalty to the country are the precondition for good diplomacy.”

The lecture caused a strong reaction among the students. Students said, “Ambassador Ren's lecture shows us the rich spiritual world of a female diplomat, which is inspiring and infectious. It not only broadens our international vision, but also inspires our patriotism and strengthens confidence in learning and setting up lofty goals.”
