Delegation of Confucius Institute Headquarters inspects the Confucius Institute of JISU in NJCU,USA

On July 9 (American local time), Guo Jiaoyang,Director of the US-based Confucius Institute Headquarters, led her teamandarrivedat New Jersey City University (NJCU) to conduct an investigation and research of the Confucius Institute jointly established by JISU and NJCU. Dr. Tamara Josh, Dean of NJCU, and Song Dandan, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute, received the visitors.

Tamara Josh extendedawarm welcome to the delegation,and highly commended the profound significance that the Confucius Institute has exerted on the internationalization and development of NJCU. She said, “TheConfucius Institute not only enriches the curriculum system and campus culture of NJCU, but also establishes a favorable platform for NJCU to exchange with Chinese universities such as JISU.”She also said,“NJCU will continue to spare no effort to support the development of the Confucius Institute.”

Director Guo Jiaoyang expressed hergratitude to NJCU for its support of the Confucius Institute. She affirmed the achievements of the Confucius Institute of JISU and encouraged the two universities to make full use of the Confucius Institute platform to develop in-depth cooperation between the two universities in teaching, research, and thecultivationof talents.

Since the establishment of the Confucius Institute in 2015, JISU and NJCU have been actively engaged in Chinese teaching and cultural activities to universities, primary and secondary schools.The communityisreceiving wide acclaim from local teachers, students and citizens. At present, the Confucius Institute has a Confucius Classroom andeightteaching sites. In the fall semester of 2019, the Confucius Institute opened its first Chinese credit course at NJCU and will offer a Chinese credit course at Hudson County Community College in the2020springsemester.
