Inearly August,eighteenfinance students,the firstsincethe Ministry of Education of the People's Republicapproved theJISU-NJCU educational joint program of financein 2015,startedtheir new campus lifeatNew Jersey City University (NJCU).Theywill graduatein one yearwithdiplomasfrom bothJISU and NJCUanda bachelor's degree certificate recognized by the education departments of China and the United Statesaftercompletingtheir studies andmeetingthe graduationrequirementsof NJCU.

OnJuly 25, NJCUhelda grandwelcomingceremony for JISU’s students. Sue Henderson, president of NJCU, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. She expressed a warmwelcome to JISU’s students and hopesfor closer relationship and cooperation with JISU. Tamara Cunningham, vice president of NJCU hosted the ceremony.

American teacherteachingspecialized courses

JISU’s students have been actively participating in languagecourses and Americanculturalactivities since the semester started. With the help of American teachers and students, they earnestlylearnedprofessional knowledge, participated inEnglish cornersto improve theirspeaking proficiency, and visited the New Jersey Modern Science and Technology Museum, the NewYorkWorld Trade Center,Wall Street, the Statue of Libertyamongother places togain a better understanding ofAmericanculture.They all showed their strongdesiretostudy hardand takefull advantage oftheresourcesatthis university.

In 2015, JISU established the Confucius Institute with NJCU and the two universities jointly launched an undergraduate educationalprogram of financeunder the approval ofthe Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic. As a result, theybegan enrolling students in 2016.The program has already benefited the universities byintroducing newhigh-quality educational resources,sharingforeignexperience in school-administrationand educationmethods,and improvingstudent trainingandsocial service capabilities.
